Stirling Ultracold is an innovative developer and manufacturer of ultra-low temperature (ULT) freezers for life science and biopharma research. Featuring a free-piston Stirling engine that requires one third the electric power of standard compressor-based ULT freezers, Stirling Ultracold has earned the industry’s first ENERGY STAR® rating while operating within a flexible -20°C to -86°C range.

Stirling freezers currently come in three different sizes: a large, upright SU780XLE model; a mid-size, under bench “pharmacy” style – SU105UE; and an even smaller, portable ULT25NEU unit to be used bench-side. All three adapt to international power outlets, use 100 percent natural refrigerants and smooth intermittent energy supply to protect against brownout. The small portable freezer can be powered by a 12V battery, or the power port in a vehicle, making it perfect for clinical settings, intra-campus or on-the-go transportation.
